Another former Eskom exec exposed

Brenda Mokoena made around R1.6 million in payments for the struggling Kusile Power Plant Project at Eskom during her tenure as contracts manager within the group capital division, reports News 24.

Mokoena was part of a rogue group of employees within the Eskom group capital division that benefited from illicit payments procured through Kusile contractors. In Mokoena’s case, she dared to ask for 4 per cent back for early payment of her daughter’s school fees when Data Descent Trading, a subcontractor for Kusile, made the R94 000 payment for the school year.

According to News 24, in an investigation conducted by law firm, Bowmans, into the misconduct at Eskom during the tenure of some of the rogue members in the group capital division, Mokoena also made further payments on her behalf for renovations on private homes, vehicle payments and dental treatments.
