Singapore’s DBS Faces Second Day of Digital Banking Glitches

(Bloomberg) — Southeast Asia’s biggest lender DBS Group Holdings Ltd. is encountering a second day of outages in its digital banking services.

The Singapore-based bank managed to restore online services after they started on Tuesday, but the same technical issues reoccured on Wednesday, DBS said in a Facebook post.

“We are doing our best to resolve the situation,” it said.

This isn’t the first time that Singapore bank has experienced a disruption in its banking services. In 2018, Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp. had a glitch that impacted its automated teller machines and online banking systems for several hours over a weekend.

Customers of United Overseas Bank Ltd. also had difficulty accessing the bank’s digital services for hours one weekend in July, the Straits Times reported.
