BEIJING (Reuters) – China urgently needs to build a unified nationwide market that can play a decisive role in resource allocation to promote competition and revitalize growth, President Xi Jinping said on Friday, according to State TV.
The country has in the past years stepped up efforts to crack down on monopolies and unfair competition, but issues like local protectionism and market segmentation still exist, Xi told a high-level meeting, China Central Television reported.
