South Africa’s net foreign reserves rise to $55.309 billion in December

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) – South Africa’s net foreign reserves rose to $55.309 billion in December from $55.160 billion in November, the Reserve Bank said on Friday.

Gross reserves edged lower to $57.589 billion in December from $57.618 billion in November. The forward position, which represents the central bank’s unsettled or swap transactions, fell to $3.404 billion from $3.653 billion.
