(Bloomberg) — Morgan Stanley named new co-heads of both global technology banking and tech mergers and acquisitions, as part of a round of promotions in one of the bank’s most important groups.
The New York-based bank has named Jeff Hogan as the co-head of global tech M&A, alongside Mike Wyatt and Owen O’Keeffe, according to people familiar with the details, who asked not to be identified because the matter is private.
Hogan, who’s been at Morgan Stanley for more than 25 years, was previously a vice chairman.
A spokeswoman for Morgan Stanley confirmed the moves.
Anthony Armstrong, who was previously a co-head of global tech M&A, will become a vice chairman of investment banking.
Enrique Perez-Hernandez, a London-based banker, will become the co-head of global tech banking, alongside Dave Chen and Michael Grimes. Perez-Hernandez previously ran the European tech business and will be succeeded in that role by Patrick Standaert.
Ren Chen, a managing director, has been named co-head of global internet banking, alongside Kate Claassen and Umi Mehta.
Drew Guevara, a previous co-head of global tech banking, will also become a vice chairman of investment banking.
Vice chairman is a popular title on Wall Street for senior bankers who shift their focus from day-to-day management responsibilities to doing more client work.
Last summer, Morgan Stanley promoted the next generation of leaders in the group, including Claassen, who was appointed head of West Coast tech.
