ALMATY (Reuters) – The Kazakh president’s office said on Monday the governor of the central bank, Yerbolat Dosayev, had moved to a new job as mayor of Almaty, the Central Asian country’s largest city.
The statement, released by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s office, did not say who would replace Dosayev as head of the central bank. The move comes weeks after mass street protests rocked the former Soviet republic.
