LONDON (Reuters) – Shell will step in to help supply Europe with natural gas in case of disruptions linked to tensions between Russia and the West, Chief Executive Ben van Beurden said on Thursday.
“If indeed there would be disruptions, possibly due to sanctions or otherwise, of course we will step in and do whatever we can to give Europe supply,” van Beurden told reporters.
He added that Europe had never encountered significant supply disruptions from Russia “even in very troubled geopolitical times” in the past.
