Dating company Bumble to exit Russia

(Reuters) -Dating company Bumble Inc said on Tuesday it is discontinuing its business in Russia, joining companies that have suspended their operations in the country following Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.

The company said it is removing all of its apps from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store in Russia and Belarus.

The Austin, Texas-based company said combined revenue from Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus was about 2.8% of total annual revenue in 2021.

It also forecast first-quarter revenue below Wall Street expectations as the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict is likely to affect its Badoo dating app, which is mainly used in Europe and Latin America.

Bumble said it expects to lose about $2 million in first-quarter revenue as a result.

It expects first-quarter revenue to be in the range of $207 million to $210 million. Analysts on average expect revenue of $211.6 million, according to IBES data from Refinitiv.
