Indonesia president: meeting people’s food demand is priority over tax, export revenues

JAKARTA (Reuters) – Indonesian president Joko Widodo said on Wednesday that meeting public demand for affordable food, including cooking oil takes priority over securing tax and export revenues, as the government sets to ban exports of palm oil products from midnight.

He said in a statement the export ban is imposed on cooking oil products and all of its raw material from all territories of the nation, including from bonded zones.
