SEOUL (Reuters) – A senior South Korean central bank official said on Tuesday the country’s consumer inflation would likely stay above 4.0% for a while and stressed the need to manage inflation expectations.
A Bank of Korea statement quoted Lee Hwan-seok, a deputy governor, as making the remarks at a meeting with other senior officials at the bank soon after data showed the country’s consumer inflation hit a more than 13-year high in April.
