South Africa trade surplus narrows to 15.49 billion rand in April

(Reuters) – South Africa recorded a trade surplus of 15.49 billion rand ($991.93 million) in April, down from a revised surplus of 47.20 billion rand in March, data from the revenue service showed on Tuesday.

Exports dropped 19.1% month on month to 151.79 billion rand, while imports were down 2.9% at 136.30 billion rand, the South African Revenue Service said.
