JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) – South African retail sales rose 2.0% year-on-year in August after rising by a revised 8.9% in July, Statistics South Africa figures showed on Wednesday.
On a month-on-month basis, sales were down 1.8%.
Sales in the three months to the end of August were up 2.6% compared with the same period last year, the statistics agency said.
