National state of disaster: How the ANC plans to end load shedding by year’s end

(News24) — The ANC still thinks it may be possible to end load-shedding by the end of the year. Secretary-general Fikile Mabalula said the party sees a declaration of a national state of disaster as critical to accelerating the end of power cuts. Here is the official petrol price for February

(BusinessTech) — Petrol increased overnight after the department of mineral resources and energy published the official price adjustment yesterday. Unleaded 93 costs 28 cents a litre more while unleaded 95 increased by the same margin. Diesel 0.05% increased by just 9 cents a litre while diesel 0.005% decreased by one cent. (Business Day) — The JSE closed weaker after investors turned cautious and weigh central bank’s interest rate decisions and earnings reports out of the US. The All-Share Index closed the session 1.06% weaker at 79,477 points. The local bourse has started the new year on the front foot, closing out January 8.8% higher.
