BEIJING (Reuters) – China’s Guangzhou has published draft rules on intelligent connected vehicles that will be used for city buses, taxis and other transportation, according to a government statement.
The municipal government will promote the large-scale operation of intelligent networked vehicles, and open up roads for mixed operation of autonomous driving and human driving throughout the city, the statement said, which was released on the government’s public WeChat social media account.
Beijing published draft plans on self-driving vehicles in late June, seeking public comment through July 29 on the use of autonomous cars in online ride-hailing services.
