WASHINGTON (Reuters) – China’s consul general in New York left his post as scheduled after completing his posting, the State Department said on Wednesday, after New York Governor Kathy Hochul said she requested his expulsion after one of her aides was charged with secretly acting as a Chinese agent.
State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller told a regular briefing that Consul General Huang Ping was not expelled.
