BENGALURU (Reuters) – New Zealand defeated India by eight wickets on the final day of their rain-interrupted opening test on Sunday to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
After skittling India for a dismal 46 in the first innings, New Zealand scored 402 before dismissing the hosts again for 462 and chased down their 107-run target.
It was the touring side’s first victory against India in the country since 1988.
