SocGen CEO reshuffles top management

PARIS (Reuters) – Societe Generale’s CEO Slawomir Krupa is reshuffling management through the appointment of a new finance chief and changes that will see him take direct supervision of the French retail banking activities.

Philippe Aymerich steps down as deputy CEO on Thursday, the company said, relinquishing responsibilty for the bank’s underperforming French retail operations.

SocGen is also appointing Leopoldo Alvear as chief financial officer from Jan. 7. Alvear held the same role at Spanish rival Banco Sabadell and replaces Claire Dumas, who has been the French lender’s CFO since 2021.

Bertrand Cozzarolo and Thierry Le Marre are appointed co-heads of SocGen’s retail banking network in France from Nov. 1. They replace Marie-Christine Ducholet, who is leaving the group.
