Ugandan shilling firms on scant demand for hard currency

KAMPALA (Reuters) – The Ugandan shilling firmed slightly on Thursday, helped by scant appetite for hard currency from merchandise importers, traders said.

At 1018 GMT, commercial banks quoted the shilling at 3,685/3,695, compared to Wednesday’s close of 3,690/3,700.
