(Reuters) – Venezuelan NGO Espacio Publico said on X on Thursday that its director, Carlos Correa, has been released from detention.
Last week, Venezuelan opposition parties and NGOs condemned the arrests of the prominent press freedom activist and a well-known opposition figure, among others, ahead of protests against the inauguration of President Nicolas Maduro for his third term.
Correa was arrested last week by hooded officials, the organization had previously said.
