New York Mayor lawyers at Justice Dept in bid to drop corruption case, NYT reports

(Reuters) – Lawyers for New York Mayor Eric Adams were meeting with lawyers from the Justice Department and Manhattan federal prosecutors to discuss dropping the corruption case against him, the New York Times reported on Friday, citing people with knowledge of the matter.

Adams is set for a criminal trial in April on federal charges of corruption, which comes alongside his reelection campaign for a second term as mayor. Adams says he has not broken the law and did nothing wrong.
