(Reuters) – Erica Roach, the chief financial officer of the federal government’s Office of Personnel Management, is resigning after being pushed out of the role, an ABC News reporter said on X, citing sources familiar with the move.
Aides to billionaire Elon Musk recently took control of the OPM – the U.S. government human resources agency – as part of the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency initiative.
Since taking office, President Donald Trump has embarked on a massive government makeover, firing and sidelining hundreds of civil servants in his first steps toward downsizing the bureaucracy and installing more loyalists.
Roach and the OPM did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
