(Reuters) -French train maker Alstom has signed a framework deal worth around 1.7 billion euros ($2.0 billion) to supply 96 additional RER new generation trainsets for the RER D line in the Île-de-France region, the group said on Monday.

The order, financed by the regional public transport authority Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) and formalised by SNCF Voyageurs, is part of the framework agreement signed in 2017 between SNCF Voyageurs and Alstom.
