Major US exchanges to remain open on Dec 24 and Dec 26

Dec 18 (Reuters) – ⁠Major U.S. ​stock ‌exchanges said on Thursday they will ‍remain ‍open as scheduled on December 24 and December 26, hours after President Donald Trump ordered the federal government to ‌be closed on those days.

Nasdaq, the New York Stock Exchange, Cboe Global Markets, and Investors’ Exchange are among the U.S.

exchanges that have chosen to stick to their previously planned trading ‌calendar.

The ‌exchange operators will close markets early on December 24 as ‌previously planned ‍and operate a regular ‌full day of trading on December 26.

CME Group’s markets will also remain open on December 24 and December 26, according to a spokesperson for the derivatives exchange.

Trump on Thursday ordered all executive departments and agencies of the federal government to ‌be closed and their employees excused from duty ‌on the day before and the day following Christmas Day.
