WASHINGTON (Reuters) -U.S. conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot by an unknown assailant during an event in Orem, Utah, on Wednesday.

* He was a co-founder at the age of 18 of Turning Point USA,an organization dedicated to advancing conservative causes oncollege campuses and among young voters.
