China delays 31st FISU World University games in Chengdu – state media

BEIJING (Reuters) – The International University Sports Federation (FISU) will delay the 31st FISU World University Games in the southwestern Chinese city of Chengdu from June this year to 2023, state media reported on Friday.

This came shortly after two other international games were also delayed or cancelled. The Olympic Council of Asia has said it will postpone the Asian Games, which were set to take place in September in the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou.

It will also cancel the Asian Youth Games, which was set to take place in the southern city of Shantou in December.
