While you were asleep: On a lighter note

From state capture to life and death, nothing is sacred to the scammers, even as the Covid-19 pandemic is costing us so much in lives and livelihoods.

For the rest of us, amid this wave of corruption, it’s a matter of social survival – if we don’t laugh about all the scams, corruption and fake news plaguing our country, it will consume us. And the one business who understands the business of humour and how to take the Mickey out of our hardships is Nando’s.

Inspired by actual news events, the restaurant chain released two TV ads throwing shade and hot sauce on the Digital Vibes and Tembisa 10 scandals, and South Africa is loving it.

Meanwhile, the government is ramping up its communication efforts to educate and encourage all South Africans to get their Covid-19 jabs to help hasten our road to recovery.

Ja, ne, if only there was a vaccine against corruption
