NEW DELHI (Reuters) – Indian opposition lawmakers shouted slogans against the Adani Group in parliament on Thursday in the wake of a U.S. short seller report that has accused it of using tax havens and flagged concerns on high debt levels.
The lower house of the parliament was adjourned amid loud protests.
The opposition Congress party is demanding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi speak on the issue and has called for an independent judicial probe into Adani Group. The company has denied allegations made by the short seller.
