Anand Narayan, JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s most senior banker covering the infrastructure sector, is leaving.
(Bloomberg) — Anand Narayan, JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s most senior banker covering the infrastructure sector, is leaving.
Narayan, who was most recently head of the firm’s infrastructure coverage, will depart the firm after about 17 years, according to an internal memo seen by Bloomberg News.
The London-based banker previously worked at ABN Amro Bank NV and Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., his LinkedIn profile shows.
JPMorgan has appointed Alejandro Corcostegui, who has been with the bank more than 20 years, as head of infrastructure coverage for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, according to the memo.
He will report to Klaus Hessberger and Ina De, heads of JPMorgan’s strategic investors and financial sponsors group in the region.
It’s also moving Matteo Dilmani, who focused on infrastructure and transport as part of the firm’s diversified industries group, to the EMEA infrastructure team as a coverage banker under Corcostegui, the memo shows.
A spokesman for JPMorgan confirmed the contents of the memo.
Narayan helped bolster JPMorgan’s relationships with some of the world’s largest infrastructure investors, helping them source and finance potential transactions.
The sector has been one of the rare bright spots for dealmaking as investors continue to deploy capital tempted by long-term, predictable returns.
JPMorgan was one of the advisers to a Blackstone Inc.-backed consortium on its purchase of infrastructure owner Atlantia SpA, which was one of the biggest takeovers in Europe last year.
The bank also advised KKR & Co. in the acquisition of UK-based power generation company ContourGlobal Plc.
