WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Deputy U.S. Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo will testify on Thursday before the Senate Energy Committee on electric vehicle tax incentives, the committee said Friday.
The hearing will examine government EV incentives including the federal government’s role in fostering reliable electric vehicle supply chains, the committee said.
Senator Joe Manchin, a Democrat who chairs the committee, has been harshly critical of Treasury’s guidance governing EV tax credits, saying last month it would make it easier for Chinese companies to take advantage.
