TOKYO (Reuters) – Japan is set to back the former top financial diplomat Masato Kanda as a candidate for the next president of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Yomiuri newspaper reported on Monday.
Masatsugu Asakawa, the current president of the Manila-based ADB since 2020 and also previously the top Japanese financial diplomat, plans to step down, the Yomiuri said.
