Greece’s Metlen posts 9-month profit rise led by renewables

(Reuters) – Greek industrial and energy group Metlen on Thursday reported a 6% year on year rise in its January to September core profit, helped by its renewable energy division and higher aluminium prices.

Its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) for the first nine months rose to 763 million euros ($823 million) from 722 million a year earlier.

Its turnover rose 3% to 4.20 billion euros.
