BERLIN (Reuters) – Rheinmetall extended the contract of Chief Executive Armin Papperger for another five years on Wednesday as part of a reshuffle to better respond to high demand facing the German defence company following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Papperger, who has been CEO since 2013, will remain in his position for another five years starting from Jan. 1, 2025.
Chief Financial Officer Dagmar Steinert will step down at the end of the year and will be succeeded from Jan. 1 by Klaus Neumann, currently head of accounting at the company.
Rene Gansauge, previously head of the weapon and ammunition division, will also take on the newly created position of chief operation officer (COO) from Jan. 1, added Rheinmetall.
