Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Richard Branson are three men that elicit many strong opinions among us common folk. While we may marvel at their entrepreneurial acumen and boldness at racing against each other to be the first to venture into space tourism, many of us may resent them for not focusing on pressing issues in the world.
These billionaires could have just as easily used their eye-watering wealth to focus their attention on solving world hunger, poverty, homelessness, and unemployment, but have instead decided to engage in a space race rather than save the planet we currently inhabit.
So, what if Musk and co decided to create jobs in South Africa rather than entertaining their space quest?
Well, Shawn Hagedorn has written an interesting and thought-provoking piece for Daily Friend where he details this very question.
Hagedorn looks at the strengths of the three men as well as how they would utilise their unique business knowledge for the betterment of the South African job market.
Whether we like them or not, there’s no question that the worlds’ uber-wealthy could drastically change our economies for the better if only they weren’t so interested in playing rocket man.
