The devasting third wave of the coronavirus pandemic is claiming more lives and infecting more people than hospitals in Gauteng can keep up with, writes Pieter du Toit for News24. Du Toit speaks with an anonymous nurse at a top private hospital in Johannesburg who told him that the third wave was far more deadly than the first two and more young and fit people were coming in sick and dying. She further went on to say that hospital beds were filling up as fast as the dead could be moved from the hospital.

BD writes that groups e-commerce business including online food delivery has seen a dramatic increase in revenue, up some 54%, which is twice as much compared to the Chinese tech giant, Tencent – where Prosus is the largest shareholder.
